Using Innovation + Fashion + Policy to Change Lives
At IverFashion, we’re not just designing clothes—we’re building a future where technology, style, and accessibility intersect. This page is where we share the movement, the mission, and the meaningful changes we’re cooking up to improve lives across Canada and beyond.
Advocating for Change: From Personal Pain to National Policy
As someone living with a high-level spinal cord injury, I’ve experienced firsthand the difference that technology—or the lack of it—can make. One of the most severe challenges I faced was developing a pressure ulcer due to a malfunctioning wheelchair cushion. This avoidable injury resulted in:
-
Four years bedridden
-
Multiple hospitalizations
-
Immense physical and emotional suffering
If my wheelchair had been equipped with a cushion pressure sensor, this could have been prevented.
That’s why I’m calling for policy change—to mandate cushion pressure sensors in all newly built wheelchairs. This technology can:
Prevent pressure ulcers
Reduce the $11 billion in annual treatment costs
Improve independence and quality of life for countless Canadians
Innovating Through Wearable Technologies
My work doesn’t stop at advocacy—I'm actively engaged in developing wearable and smart health tech that improves comfort, safety, and dignity for people with mobility challenges:
Cushion Pressure Sensors
Real-time monitoring to prevent pressure sores and the devastating effects they cause.
Smart Urine Bags
Sensor-equipped systems that detect pH, volume, blood, and ketones—vital data for users and caregivers in home, hospital, or senior care settings.
Magnetic QLIQ’s
A revolutionary foot positioning solution that enhances stability, posture, and independence for wheelchair users.
Problem We’re Solving:
After a bumpy sidewalk or cab ride, many wheelchair users experience twisted or dangling feet due to spasms or involuntary movement—often needing help to fix them. This isn’t just uncomfortable; it affects pressure relief, dignity, and long-term health.
With Magnetic QLIQ’s, users can now realign their feet with ease.
Whether by a quick tap of a tash switch or a simple voice command from your smartphone, a magnetic field is activated—and just like that, your feet are back in position and grounded for the day.
It’s quick, empowering, and life-enhancing.
